Nice looking repair work. I’d bet it was a rock at pretty high speed to dent titanium like that. Good it didn’t hit you.

Hi Mark if the titanium pipe bent in that complex way it must have been quite ductile at that time.
So i did a bit of research - looking at annealing temperatures LK Alloys site it seems that up to 650 deg C for between 20 mins and 2 hours is suitable for industiral parts.
So if you go for a hot 2hr run - you should be able to beat back the pipe from inside.

It's an annealing process so you can wait until it reaches ozzie air temperature (that's 52deg C isn't it?)

I didn’t see those headers on eBay. They may not ship to Oz.
Hm, yeah they're offline at the moment. Â Happy to ship from here-- but I'm seeing prices for the header set separately that are well below the price on the used header/muffler. Â So notsogreat a lead after all. Â Will keep an eye out.
Update: Located, link PM'd.

Well, the seller I "purchased" the replacement headers (and actually purchased the original from) tell me that Arrow are no longer making them.

If those pipes are single walled I would still be tempted to look'an'see if you could tonk that dent out from inside.
A shaped alluminium drift banging it into a bed of damp sand would be my choice

Years ago, Mark of Moto Guzzi Classics in Signal Hill south of LA repaired my damaged pipes by spot welding short "nails" (can't remember exactly what he used) and pulled the dents out using a sliding hammer.

Problem is titanium as an absolute frontbottom of a material to work and work with. It work hardens terribly and a biff like that will make it incredibly crack prone.
I really don't know if you could get a suitable piece of mandrel bent Ti tube suitable for a cut and shut on it? It might be worth taking it to the bloke at Powertone. I think he has the ability to do Ti welding but I'm not sure. I'll ask on Monday.
Could you email me a few good pics of the damage so I can show them to him?

I agree there is always a risk - without known pure metals and totally even heating the boundary between annealed and glass hard can be too slim for comfort. If Pete knows someone who works that metal it is better.
My experience is just with with 'steel', copper and aluminium mixes where you can 'feel' annealed because it bends so easily and stiffens while you are bending it as it workhardens

No worries. He's the guy I purchased my first set off. I ordered and paid, and after several weeks of no action, I queried it. He was hoping to get a new shipment, then reported they were no longer available. I've asked for a refund.
AF1 are selling a set on eBay, which includes the Arrow muffler. They won't ship internationally. If anyone would like to play middleman for me, I would be much appreciated. I don't want the (looks like it has a ding) muffler, so you could keep that bit and on-sell it for your trouble.

Thank you, but I've already been hooked up by another member.
It may be the case that your seller only used the pics from the lying sack of shite..anyhoo, that's in the lap of the PayPal gods now.
