Throttle body balance Empty
PostSubject: Throttle body balance   Throttle body balance Icon_minitime1Tue Aug 05, 2014 2:42 am

Just a thanks for the excellent information.
Did the throttle body balance on saturday, bit of faffing about as i made my own manometer using plastic tubing & red gear oil, watched a couple of clouds of white smoke disappearing from the exhaust, PITA refilling the manometer & getting rid of air bubbles, but all turned out good.
Used Guzzidiag, following instructions on this website, used the GRiSO 1200 8v setting, it reset the TPS to 4.6, did it twice to double check this was different to advised setting??.
Up shot is-an MPG improvement of approx 20%, before i was around 40mpg, now im near to 50mpg, that is of course UK gallons (4.5litres as near as dammit), bike is smoother, but not too smooth im pleased too say!!!, bike has now done approx 4300 miles, its a 2010, i think this is the first time its been balanced, no detriment to the previous owners, they were getting it serviced at the right times etc.
So pleased with results, all due to excellent info on here, also got leads from ebay as per info here, anybody needs to use them give me a pm, it'll only cost you postage.(uk), both ways.
Regards
Stevie

The easy way to get oil into the tube is dip one end in the bottle and suck on the other, don't get bubbles that way.

I use engine oil but gear oil might be better, more damping.

If you are looking for adapter fittings to go into the throttle bodies, 6mm grease nipples work well, you just have to file the tip of the threaded end to let out the spring and ball.

If you use plastic tube to connect to the throttle body it will get soft as the engine warms up and fall off so wire it in place, end off with a short bit of rubber or sheathe the plastic with a larger size heat shrink tubing.

Try silicon tubing at the nipple, as this will not melt. You only need about 50 mm (2" for those who can't metric) each side and from there you use your clear plastic tubing
