I bought my GRiSO in September and started replacing the bits that Mandello del Lario and 28k miles in UK had beggared up. Wires, fasteners, fuses, filters, hoses, gaskets, oil (of course) etc. Almost £900 and 5 months of fiddling and banging and swearing.
Yesterday i took it out for a 160 mile 'necessary journey'
The roads in that part of Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire are twisty, sweeping with a good surface so speeds rose... It was a briliant day with dappled sun, the Cotswolds are almost 1000 ft up and at this time of year the trees are still bare so you can see for miles. The bike was responsive and accurate and i rode it harder and faster as the miles ticked by.
The last 15 miles back home are motorway and the GRiSO was running so well that i let it run up to 5500 rpm and hold there with occasional 6000 to pass things. (probably a legal speed officer)
When i got back it ticked over sweetly not hot or bothered.
a really really good run - and then i realised - that nothing had gone wrong, i had no mental notes "must do x,y&z"
So maybe i have finished chapter 1 "Get it right"
Now for chapter 2 "Get it better"

Its so good when it all comes together after maintenance, sounds like a great ride too.
