| Hi everyone-I am an English expat Aircraft Engineer, living and working in Kuwait , having just taken delivery of my new GRiSO. Having just come across your Forum, I joined, so thought I would share with you my story of how I came into the Guzzi "family" Well as an "older biker" of the 70's and keeping a Screaming Eagle in the States with my son, I was very keen to get a bike in Kuwait and have tolled with the idea for a few years now. Why?- you might ask-well this is the most dangerous place to drive a car, never mind a bike-road stupidy is not the word!!!--plus high summer temps of + 47C-make it rather warm!!! Anyway-finally, I could resist the urge no more-took my test-passed (admin nightmare for an expat!!)-then spent a long time looking round. Sports bike's do nothing for me-too old to be crouched over those bars!!! Looked closely at the BMW r9t-but delivery/ waiting list was months. Never thought too much about Guzzi-but Italian friends always always rated them. Went online-so the GRiSO- thought "wow" I got to have that bike!!! Rushed to the Guzzi Dealer-did they have one?- did they shit!!!-thought what to do!!! My wonderful wife said- "look you like it"- "treat yourself"------soooo without even a bike to sit on- worked out seat hieght and riding postion, drewlled over the photo's again again again and thought "sod it"- let me get one of those!!!! So 6 weeks later- here I am with my GRiSO-up at 5am in the morning to ride for an hour to run it in before you just die with the temperature!! Just love the engine torque, power and handling of the bike-also from an engineering point- well put together. Only thing I am thinking of is the GRiSO flyscreen-the larger one-which does not distract from the styling of the bike and I hope will help with the wind buffet. Just got to hope the Service Centre here will be ok-though because being in Kuwait -the bike milage compared to elsewhere will be very low-(it's not like we have pleasant scenic places to ride to!!) So thats me-and I welcome mysef to your forum!! | |

| Welcome to the forum.Great choice, the GRiSO! Hope you can find a Fly-screen somewhere. They don't seem to be available here. And there are a couple guys machining risers if you want the handlebars 1" higher too. Here'a the small screen I bought.. It looks ok on the bike and blocks just enough wind. I got the black tint. | Thanks Canyon Carver for that info on flyscreen-I also like the Motto Guzzi factory one-as it's adjustable-and was also interested in the 1inch bar risers owners were writing about. | |

Here's one guy making risers in 1/2" and 1" you will need longer bolts as well to mount the 1". John Armitage [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I believe he is in Arizona )usa) another person making 1" riser spacers is Kyle Pace I only have a phone for him 1 (828) 243-0014 He is in North Carolina (usa) | |

| GRiSO in Kuwait eh? Are you the only one?
I presume that having something no one else has is not easy in Kuwait.

| whoa. Back in 2000 I bought a silver/orange Laverda 750. I was the ONLY one in the San Fran Bay Area. For six months. Then I met a guy that said "I have one of those" and I got ANNOYED. I was no longer the only one. Anyway - I can be special that way. And it sure looked to me like this was another one of those situations. Ah well. DM | |
