I personally like the shape and sound of the original muffler. In silver though it's too "in your face" for my liking. On looking through mods that others have done I spotted the muffler in satin black and decided that was the way to go.
I painted the muffler in high temp black and shimmed it inboard 19mm, looked good to me. The headers were pretty shabby, I sanded and polished them, they looked fine but as soon as I ran the bike they went manky

That looks fantastic. I approve!

Nice! Great job!
I have the same problem with the headers getting that mottled stain on them. It’s a bitch to polish out, looks great for 3 minutes, then they turn all crappy again. Cold/damp air makes it worse.

Looks great in all black instead of half and half.

Buono! Back in the 1100 days, I ceramic coated my system in a titanium color. Coating the exhaust is a nice alternative to the raw stainless.

I'm pleased with how well the zircon coating matches the high temp paint [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I like the look of the all-black exhaust but the deep red paint caught my attention. I'm a sucker for a nice maroon paint job.

I like what you did with your side stand too, Evans. That little stock meat hook always struck me as potentially prone to failure, though I've never actually had a problem with it on either one of my Grisos.

Yes the bent coathanger look of the sidestand lever didn't do a lot for me. The bit I made is easy enough to kick down, which was the only thing that I was unsure of.
It's stainless steel, it wasn't until I came to fit it I realized that the stand is aluminium not steel. mine is drilled and tapped through the side stand and bedded in high strength epoxy.
Knowing now that the stand is aluminium I would have fabricated the part in aluminium and welded it to the stand.
