The non running part was a poor neglected bike that was left outside under a tarp. I begun with a new battery, bike cranked fine with good compression, good spark, no fuel.
Removed the tank and found a bad fuel pump. When they left the bike outside, the drain tube for the fuel cap was clogged, so when it rained over the bike the water made it inside the tank.
Replaced the pump and bike run like a champ.
Now for the run of the mill part, is just a nearly stock bike, has a Termi exhaust and a BMC filter, nothing fancy. It still has the flat tappets, but I was prepared to do the roller conversion when I bought it so no big deal.
I've already changed all the fluids, I'm using Liqui Moly 10W60 on the engine and the Agip recommended lubricants in the tranny.
I'm not using the bike now until I can install the roller kit on it, I used it for a 70 miles run just to make sure everything was in operating condition and don't want to push my luck.
