Don't know if this has been written up before.
Needed to remove the inner section of the bodywork wings beside the fuel tank.
After some trial and error I have found the best way to remove the metal clips that are used to retain the inner section of the wing, including the metal mesh.

How do I know this, well you've already figured that out, a bit of plastic welding should sort it.
After proding and pushing it dawned on me to use a heat gun to soften the plastic so the metal clip can be dislodged.
While warming the prong and working under the clip with a small bladed screw driver, I was able to dislodge the clips relatively easily but slowly without further damage.
