Keep the spare you may need it if your bike falls over. As one of the first points of contact with the ground the toe peg snaps off (I know from personal experience) but this isn't a bad thing as it avoids the $100+ gear or brake lever from bending so they make a suitable sacrificial part, especially as they are cheap. Leave the original in the toolkit so you can refit it to get home, if the new one breaks.
