| Tony, I've just put in an order to Europe, I can still add anything else you want within the next day until COB in Holland. If you need anything not available from Mario let me know, soon. | |

| Thanks Pete, but Mario has the rest of the bits in stock - might be a tad quicker as well. | |

| After around 7 consecutive uses, I am going all out and replacing my rocker cover gaskets. These are the green ones for the 1100. Awesome.
Now that we are environmentally conscious (or is that self conscious) what is deemed the best thing to clean parts in these days?

| Use the Valpolini type gaskets. Never wear out. I just wash stuff in Kero. | |

| Spent some time cleaning old oil by-products from both of the heads and both of the pistons. Heads are good as are the pistons. Can still see the hone marks on the cylinders - nary a sign of a lip - When the parts arrive from Mario (should be early next week), I'll start the reassembly process, with lots of oil - I've got around 1 litre, maybe a bit more, of Penrite 5W60 10 tenths - I bought many years ago - don't ask me why, I can't remember. I plan on dumping the sump anyway, and giving the old girl her 140,000 km service while I'm in there - new plugs, new filters, old injectors and back to the old map from before I purchased the Chinesium injectors - obviously the mapping was rich and oily with the new injectors, so resetting to a know good combination makes since. Even did a bit of a polish on the exhausts - got new gaskets coming for them too. Almost a new bike! Pete the spring for the new oil rings is a different type - the original was a spiral on a wire, underneath the ring; the new one is stepped spring arrangement. Assume this is still OK? | |

| Yup, it's just a Deeves type ring. Space the gaps in the rails apart from each other. At 140,000 I'd suggest it's time for a camchain as well. | |

| It's much easier with the top end off so now's the time to do it. Let's face it, we ain't gunna be doing much riding in the next few months.... You'll need the timing chest gasket and I'd advise a new timing cover seal as well. Stick a new belt on it at the same time and I'll bet you you won't need to look at it again for another 150,000! | |

| As it turns out, the ring sets are for the A5, A7 and A8 engines. Mine is an A2 - back to the drawing board.
None in Australia, some in Europe/UK at ridiculous prices. Mario has 4 sets on backorder since January, and doesn't hold out any hope they will arrive soon. Nearly all the freight companies have stopped flying to Australia. By Ship? Just like in the good old days - I know there are a few heading to other parts of the world, but I won't be getting on one...

| AF1 reckon they're in stock in Atlanta and can get them in a week but $265US a set plus freight! | |

| Yes, had a look, none there. Plenty of businesses have them, but freight to Australia has virtually stopped - borders are closed | |
