| I did have Tenni, why did I sell it? Only fuck knows! I blame my medication. For the past few years I have been Grisoless, lurking from the naughty corner and falling of my chair every now and then when Peter, Mark et al amaze me with a quality gem of insightfulness, sometimes knee-capping a poor unsuspecting soul who didn't realise it until they tried to stand.
I have just bought myself another Tenni, had been looking and waiting for nice one in good nick, had to be a Tenni. This one is from a small collection of rarely ridden Guzzis and it only has 790 klms on the clock. It hasn't been rollerised but has been looked after. After the bushfires, my plan is to get it in for a 'health check', a service etc and get advice. With so few klms I am not sure whether that is a good thing or what to do about the tappets in the short term, please chime in ......... I will probably get Moto Moda on the job, being my closest reputable Guzzi facility, as I have now essentially retired to Lake Conjola in NSW.
(my place did survive the local devastation on NYE when 89 homes were razed and people tragically lost their lives. I was there at the time and it was indeed a holocaust).
I am very much looking forward to catching up with those I have met in person previously ........ hopefully at the Cabal in March.

| Rollerise immediately and avoid any problems before they arise. Our usual list is.
Rollerise.
Sump spacer gasket replacement.
Grease swingarm and shock linkage bearings.
Re-map and tune.
What year is it? | |

| thanks Tony and Pete(Street) ...... yes Tony, I remember that Cabal but not sure I remember everyone who stayed over. There was Pete and Jude, Mark, yourself and maybe a couple of others (I think). I do remember the ride over to Lake Conjola from Bungendore via Nerriga Pub and Tianjara Falls ...... both of which have been at the mercy of the current fires and the road is still closed.

| Yes Gary, regardless of the current state, we should be able to remember the good times. If I remember correctly, that was a reasonably fast trip! Jeeves was instructed to not spare the horses - indeed. | |

| I have head about that Moto Moda place, seems familiar indeed. I'll bet he knows all about rollers. That would be my 1st priority. Great to have a GRiSO. | |

Yeah, it was a good find and I was keen to make a fair offer .... but I still did pay a premium when also factoring in the need to get the tappets done.

| It's up here now. Looks brand new, apart from the massive oil leak and the fact it won't start. The leak is simply a perished hose I think, might be the oil feed banjo on the right head? Anyway it's of no real concern. The non starting coincides with the dash blanking out when the starter button is pressed so it's most likely to be just a dirty connection but the fact it's only got a 16AH battery in it won't be helping. | |

| Alternatively Pete, could the oil leak be the unfortunate result of me not refitting the Tappet cover gasket correctly after checking to see if it had been rollerised.
The not starting after stopping for fuel this morning is a bit of a puzzle as I had the battery on charge all night and my charger was happily in maintenance mode this morning before leaving when the bike started immediately without hesitation. BTW, before stopping for fuel, the dash was indicating that the battery was being offered a healthy 13.9
A nice bloke at Pheasants Nest noticed I was having trouble and offered to 'jump' start it from his ute. Which he did and once again the bike fired up without hesitation. I am hoping it is just dirty connections on a too low rated battery ......... sounds like it
BTW, apart from the oil leak and not re-starting .............. the GRiSO was running beautifully
