My new to me GRiSO was delivered on Friday and we spent the weekend getting familiar on PCH and the twisties in Palos Verdes! What a blast! It's like having a high-tech bull by the horns! In a good way! Here are some pics of our maiden voyage:

The only flaw on the bike is a scuff on the underside of the side cover, right below the Guzzi badge. I think it happened during transport. It went through the paint and exposed the black underneath, so will have to be touched up. I was going to file an insurance claim with Uship to replace the part, but in reading the fine print, there is a $500 deductible. I suppose that is roughly what it would cost. Pisses me off. I'm the only one allowed to scuff my bikes! Guess I'll just touch it up and forget it.

I'm starting to understand what people mean about Guzzi quirks. No sight glass for the oil level? I found myself squinting at the dipstick and scratching my head. I guess I'll trust that the idiot light will come on before the oil gets too low?

Other than that I LOVE it! It's a beautiful raging beast of a bike!

No, the light won't come on as it is pressure triggered. By the time the light comes on your engine will be fucked. Take a file to the stick and remove one of the 'Vanes' it will make it much easier to read. Also only fill it to about half way between the add and full marks. If you fill it to the 'Full' Mark it will just blurt a henap out into the airbox and foul the throttle bodies and stepper motor.

I measure mine with the bike upright, which is tricky without a paddock stand or help from a friend.

Nice Tenni, mate. Good catch!

Initially you check it with the bike upright and the stick just resting on the threads, not screwed in. Once you know that level is correct just stick the bike on its sidestand and see where the level sits on the stick. That's now your 'Full' mark on the sidestand.

If you mask it carefully, you can get a pretty good match to the Tenni paint right from your local hardware store. Another Tenni GRiSO owner painted his GIVI fairing to match with this paint and it was a very close match, almost indistinguishable.

Thanks Steak! I'll be stopping at Lowe's tomorrow. I'll get the plastic primer too. I think I'll try using a little hobby brush, rather than spraying. The abrasion is about 2 inches long with two spots that went through to the black plastic. It looks like something was leaning on it and rubbing there for the whole trip from Bend to Seattle and then down to So Cal. I can't imagine how they did it. Luckily it's on the underside of the left cover, so it's not very noticeable. I've used Uship 3 times and ended up with scratched bikes twice. I'm starting to think that their feedback ratings are rigged to filter out the bad ones.

Congrats LBC - It's an incredible bike as you are discovering. I bought the same one in 2012 and have enjoyed every second of it!

Enjoy!
