| This may seem trivial, but for me it cleans up the looks of the bike noticeably. I love the mechanical look of the bike with solid metal bits all over, but the right side always bugged me with that ugly white plastic rear brake master cylinder reservoir. It really sticks out on my bike since it’s all black on back. So I changed it for something more in character. This is the before pic: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Ugh! How awful is that‽ Ruining that black look; my eyes! Now the after pic: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Where is the master cylinder reservoir? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]There it is! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Close up showing my handiwork with modified bracket The part was a cheap Chinese thing off Amazon for less than $10, but it seems very high quality. Nice CNC machined part from billet aluminum, with the rubber seal, screw-on cap, and sight window. Even came with a hose (which I used because the original was a bit too short). What do you think? | |

| Nice ... now let´s wait and see how long Chinese rubber will last. Isn´t there something similar available from Rizoma? | |

| If the problem is the hose? Buy another bit of hose!
Chinese, especially for something as simple as an anodised piss-cup, doesn't need to mean bad.

| Actually it was from eBay not Amazon. $9.96 with shipping included. Here is a link [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]It comes in many colors! The image shows the bracket to be unpainted shiny steel, but the one a got was painted in a black crinkle finish which looked great, but I had to mangle it so ended up scraping the paint off and sealing it with heat-shrink tubing. I was a bit concerned about the cheap Chinese knockoff quality concerns, but it seems very well made and looks identical to one’s I’ve seen for close to $100. As for the rubber, I guess I am taking it on faith that they would include something rated for use with brake fluid. Maybe I am too trusting and naive, I’ll let you know... | |

| Thanks Street! Very minor compared to the engine-out and frame-off job I did, but a satisfying and clean result Currently in the middle of changing fork oil as I’m typing this | |

| I'd looked at swapping mine out at some point. Can you get the reservoir bracket off without removing the footrest plate, or does it all have to come off ? | |

| It *might* be possible to get at that bracket mounting bolt without removing the footrest plate, but I think it’s a lot easier to just remove it. It’s just a few bolts, easy peasy.
I tried a couple of mounting options until I settled on something simple that looks very clean: use bracket that came with the reservoir, give it a quarter twist, cut off end to mount at second last hole, then use shrink wrap tubing to seal it and give it a clean look. You can bend it as needed after it’s mounted to position the reservoir to its ideal orientation, but the steel is stiff enough that it won’t move on its own | |

| Just be careful when ordering: I first tried a really cheap one from Wish (similar to AliExpress) but I found out when I got it that it was way too small. Only cost me $3.80 to find out so no big deal. The current one is a little smaller capacity than stock but I think it holds plenty enough fluid. The first one I got looked ridiculous as well as holding a fraction of the capacity of fluid.

| Yeah - I'll be going for one which gives you the capacity, long as it's close to a recognised brand, I guess it'll be OK | |
