I'd like to think MG ran the math & tests that led to the kink being there in the first place........compression waves....exhaust length....piston position...scavenging....in which case you'd think it would be a backwards step to eliminate it........but unless somebody has got dyno curves for the straight one with your exhaust set up I doubt we'll ever know

We have found the 'Pretzel' beneficial. Especially to the bottom end and midrange.

Thanks guys, kinda what I thought, and when I read about it, it said: The straight through design of this collector is designed to improve high rpm power delivery and throttle response.

I want low and midrange myself.

I think I will save that money for gas :-)
