Subject: Pazzo lever install question: Pivot Bolt Fri Jan 18, 2019 5:09 pm
So I bought some Pazzo levers and I'm trying to mount them. I removed the brake lever nut, but Guzzi, in their brilliance, decided to use a flat head screw to pair with the nut. When I use a normal size flat head screwdriver to try to pull the screw, it (the screw head) shreds. Am I missing something? Lefty-loosy? Do I need to find a screwdriver with enough width to pull it? It isn't supposed to be this complicated...

Use a screwdriver with a sharp and correctly sized blade.

The oem clutch lever has an adjustible conical plastic piece approx 3/4" long threaded into it that pushes the m/c piston. I ordered & returned a low cost blk replacement pair that didn't allow for the conical plastic piece to swap over. Do the Pazzo's have the ability? I spend pretty easily on m/c's but I'm struggling with the $180 + shipping cost for a pr of blk levers. Thks

I got some from China, fit great. That threaded plunger has a very small set screw holding it in place if I remember correctly. They also fold up

I had some replacements from China. They worked well for about 10 months and then they became very loose. Pete took them off and showed me that the pivot points had become oval because the metal is poor quality. He replaced them with a pair of Pazzos for me and they are great. They work better and they feel better in your hand.

The Pazzos have the ability to accept the piece. I've had them in the past, and thought they were worth buying again.

Sorry to ask maybe evident question, what is advantage of short levers, comparing to standard?

My reasons are twofold; 1( Aestheticaly, they help to creata a narrower, sleak appearance fm the front view if also insetting the turnsignals. 2) $$, less likely of breaking in a tip over. 3) some would say a different pull feel preference.
Some would say different pull feel preference. Having said that I have the long on order for my in the shop GRiSO. Ultimately, personal preferance.

I like just using my primary two fingers to pull. The others can stay on the grip. Seems more comfortable and stable to me.

I just now installed some cheap chinese levers ($27). Had a lot of trouble with removing/transfering clutch plunger. I had to join Ghetto to find out about the tiny grubscrew The 1.5 mm allen wrench was to small. after 3 days I had to use a SAE wrench with lots of heat...and side loading the wrench to free it. I love the feel.... better than stock. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Even the expensive Pazzo levers wear, all alloy levers without some form of hard metal bushing will wear oval. People imagine because they look blingy they feel better, they are 3 step angled at the front the originals are smooth all around the front. The dog leg is almost identical on Pazzo levers as it is on the original. I ditched the £170 plus Pazzo's for a £22 pair of pattern oem levers Shows am getting old
A good idea would be to buy a cheap alloy pattern clutch lever, drift out the bush, bench drill the pazzo lever to accept the bush and voilla a super strong very long lasting lever.
