PostSubject: Broken Tube   Broken Tube Icon_minitime1Mon Nov 12, 2018 11:47 am

GRiSO 1100: I have a broken tube that is normally hanging out just under the gear box. It was a clear tube with a plastic stopper attached. There are several other tubes as well still insitu.
I cannot trace it back to its origin but suspect I will have to take off the airbox to inspect and replace.
Is there anything in particular I need to know to take the airbox off.

Many thanks.

I'll have to think about it for a bit and remember where exactly the drain connects but I doubt you'll need to take the airbox out.

Clear tube with a stopper?
I would have thought it was the air box drain hose.

Plug it!

It may also be the draining hose of the rubber housing where the battery is placed in, it's also transparent and
fitted on the left bottom side of the battery housing. When You remove the battery You will see a little hole there.

You may also discover an third hose which is black. That's the hose where fuel is running down when You overfilled Your fuel tank or water which got in Your tank fillercap assembly after heavy rain.

OK will try to trace the tube again. I did notice some light oil splashes/stains on the LHS of my rear tyre after a quick run up Mt Buffalo yesterday. Me thinks its the oil /airbox overflow tube.
So reading above if it is indeed the oil overflow tube I should plug it at the airbox outlet-correct?

Many thanks for your input.

There is usually a plug at the bottom so you don't get oil on your tyre, remove and drain every service or whenever.

My 1100 has 2 airbox drain lines - the one at the left just below the air filter, that can be seen through the cut of the plastic above the rear weel, got hard and broke.

Replased both airbox drains lines with silicone type, they dont get hard over time so they wont break again.
