Planning annual long trip for GRiSO: Markham to Skidegate, BC (visit Haida Gwai island), then Vancouver Island, back through the US following 'reverse Pirsig' route from Lolo pass to Chicago and then home. Some 10K+ Kms. should be fun.

If you pass through Seattle, give me a shout, maybe we can have a beer and a bite. You didn't mention any dates for your trip and Esther and I will be riding down in the Southwest from July 16-Aug. 5th, but if it works out it's always nice to meet another Gris-er.

Looks like a great trip! You might even need a tire change somewhere in there, with so many kms planned!

Just bought brand new Michelin Pilot4 front and rear to replace same previous ones after some 20k kms. Happy with the choice.

Looks like a hellava trip. Please post pictures and comments along the way if you have time.

Beautiful trip with spectacular views and scenery, even though the wild fires in western provinces enveloped everything in a blue haze. Spent almost 24 hours on ferries on my return to the mainland: Skidegate to Prince Rupert (7 hours) arrived at 5:00am to catch the 7:30am ferry from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy (16 hours) on Vancouver Island.

Visited our friends Shaun and Claire that offered a great lunch (and ½ litre of 10W60 oil !!)

The return was via the US following a portion of Pirsig route (Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance) in reverse from Othello through Lolo pass, Missoula, Bozeman and on Yellowstone.

Small instance of mild panic: in the middle of nowhere in Montana, hot 32C, decided to stop and consult the map and GPS for possible food/beer establishment. Turned the ignition key, all lights went on as usual, pushed the start button … deadly silence. Two three times nothing. Remembered Grisoghetto discussion on startus interruptus. Took the saddle off to listen for the infamous click. Still nothing. Then jigling the negative from the battery realized it was loose. AHAAAA, the son of a bitch is trying to scare me. Tightened everything, hopped on, beautiful, beer and burgers next.

Somehow we managed to miss Mr. & Mrs. Roper when visiting Shaun in Courtney,BC and when passing through Seattle. Unfortunately we also missed both Street and Steak on our way through Washington State, through we appreciate the invite and will keep it for next time!

The GRiSO run wonderfully the whole trip, it only needed gasoline and a little oil top up after about 7000kms. Now resting on the lift in the garage for a bit of TLC.

Looks like a fantastic trip and great that you had no issues

But you should have ended up at the Ontario Guzzi rally last week and grabed the long distance award
