Greetings all, have just taken delivery of my first bike in 30 years.

So far what I know of the GRiSO is the sound and the look.
Been reading the forum for a few weeks and it's patently obvious I've much to learn and experience.

This machine is a 3-13 and sports 20K miles and plenty of grunge. It's not yet licensed but happy to have finally pulled the trigger. I figured I'd be the old fart in the group until I started noticing the ages of other forum members, kind of makes me feel more at home.

I'll avoid asking technical questions prior to scouring the forums for answers, but my initial need for input is pretty obvious.

I am reduced just now to hiding from visiting petri dishes (a.k.a. grandkids) and sulking about not even be given a hall pass to visit my GRiSO and other Guzzis. Sigh. Whine. Sad

Welcome Kel. Nice to see another aviation person in the Group! I'm a fixed wing pilot / mechanic. I like your GRiSO, it looks clean and ready for fun times! It's good to add your bike info to the signature line at the bottom for the times when you are asking for advice.

I do airplane as well, just this contract keeping me busy these days is all rotorcraft. Full time help arriving soon will allow me to get back to FW.
Looking forward to being able to provide specifics on the bike but don't know much about it yet. It came from Austin so I'll get by AF1 soon to see what they know of the history.
Have not had the time to pull valve covers yet, hell, it was just a couple of weeks ago I heard the term Guzzidiag for the first time. Even took me a while to figure out it was a program.

Ok, first ride in thirty years report, round the Willow City loop with deer and cattle abounding.

First of all you guys, now I get it. I'm guessing this thing sports some of Beetle's handiwork, as I'm pissed an amazed at the overall smoothness having none of the quirks I'm seeing some of you report. From cold start both pipes adjacent to the heads warm at identical rates (employing calibrated coozie gripper method), then after a warm up it pulls from nothing till forever, shifts smoothly without clutch and in general just "feels right". A hell of a deal to be sure. Have identified some neck muscles I'd long forgotten about but at least now I have a perfect distraction from 14 hrs a day in the shop.
Wardentm, not so much shy about me age, but can't identify where most of it went either. When I figure out how to modify my profile I'll add the year of 57. I'm better with live steam than I am with green steam.
