Apart from industrial levels of heat, is there a chemical which will melt Loctite?

Depends on the type of course but what are you trying to UN-Loctite you can't bung a bit of heat into?

A mix of laziness and fear. I still haven't mounted Ongur's bar risers. I've loosened one bolt but the other won't shift.

Levers are your friend! Use a longer breaker bar!

Loctite is fairly resilient to chemicals. They recommend methylene chloride for cleaning any spill before it cures but I doubt this stuff is readily available to the general public (if you can ge it be careful it is nasty stuff - cacogenic etc.) The melting temp is only 250 deg C.

Cheers all. Once I'm over this horrible virus I shall be stripping the left hand bar of all its superfluous nonsense-the clutch lever etc, applying heat and using a 3 foot bar on the dinky little bolt. As a back up, I have super glue remover!
