Australien in Austria

This summer I met an intersting young biker from Western Australia on his world-tour on the border between Austria and Italy.

He has already been in Japan-Russia-Germany-Austria an was on the way to Turin for shipping to US and further on to South America.
My personal respect to this young Kangaroo-land biker!

It was a fantastic summer day and I crossed 5 Italien and Swiss passes.

Lovely pics, never made the pass, despite three attempts, always closed for snow, will have to try later in the season!

Respect for the Aussie taking the bike on a long way round. Amazing pictures, Ralf! The GRiSO looks comfortable so close to home ;-) Getting a bit homesick looking at such photos or videos of people riding up and down the Austrian, Italian and Swiss passes.

Jamie, this was the name of the Aussi, has had a small crash with a car somewhere on his tour.
Result, the front fork was bent on both cylinders approx. 5 deg backwards.

However, this did not held him to proceed on his world tour. Respect to such a young guy with such ambitious targets.

If I red a little between the lines, it looks like that you are missing such pass routs in Australia & Co.

Therefore I add a picture from the west ramp of passo stelvio (2575m) on the way down to Bormia (which is not so far away from Mandello del Lario (1h more riding).

I am in the good state, that my house in one of the best areas for motorcycle riding.
By the way in 2 days I go there for holidays (my other house is 300 km east).
Unfortunately, winter is in front and most pass routes are already closed.

Conclusion, I will go on 3 glaciers for skiing within 1,5 weeks.
