Hi, this is Antonio, from Milan (Italy)
I'd rather be classified as a "Don Abbondio": sooner rather than later I am willing to buy a GRiSO. Still not made up my mind on which one: the 1100 would do best (more torquey, less quick) but 8Vs are really cheap in comparison. I am aware of some issues about the latter.
I am 48 y.o. and ride bikes for some 30+ years. Had some Japs in the past (Honda Four, Kawa Z650, ZX10), then discovered Guzzis and owned a few of them (a V35, a V75 then a V11 and finally Her Majesty an 850 Le Mans first batch). Have had Beemers all over my garage since inception, and inherited an R65 (my father's) and an R100 (my stepfather's). Together with the Le Mans and the Beemers I also own a Ducati Multistrada (the old one - I love the style and the attitude), a Suzuki Bandit 400 (for my quick mountain rides) and a Honda Dominator (for some mild off-road).
I have always loved the GRiSO, a few years ago I road tested one and loved it. I think it is the only contemporary Guzzi worth sitting in my garage. So I am in the info gathering mode. Soon I will start testing the market.
Thanks for having me here, I guess I will read a lot and do some talking only when appropriate.
Cheers to all of you, if anyone is in need of something from the Homeland of the Eagle, pls let know
Antonio
