Oil pump gear on a 1200 Sport 8V.

Backlight it and you can see the bloody gear is hollow! It's made of some kind of phenolic resin. All post 2010 bikes use this gear, it's not a problem component as long as it's made correctly. Correctly isn't 'Hollow'! Shocked

.....despite history often doesn't support that hope ! BTW I checked and these things (874616) are £100 gbp; so expensive air inside the hollow !

I'm also a 2009er but just to add to the scare;).... I couldn't find any trail in any early 1200 V exploded diagrams that shows they changed the design/part no (for sure the 1100s all had different part number).....includes Stelvio 1200 8V 2009-2010 diagram which also has 874616 gear.

Looks like a business opportunity for 3D printer brigade to make homemade replacements from beeswax

Paul, i have two part numbers, 874616 from the earlier bike and 877101 from the later ones :-)

You are right (I got it wrong) 874616 is the pre-2010 and is the 'good one'; 877101 is the post 2010. I got confused on Fowlers 2007-2015 diagram !

Its just a part of the Japinization of the world, plastic cruisers have been shitting their nylon oil pump gears for years. Guarantee Milwaukee still uses cast iron.
