| as I am a new grisodriver since last week, and I planned a trip to Wales for about 3000km, should I worry about any oil consumption (cooling, cardan, lubrication) of the bike? don't find anything in the forum about it. the bike (1200 8v 2008) is in a very good condition, has 20.000km and is regularly serviced at Moto guzzi dealers. friend of my drives a brandnew BMW Rninety and it drinks a lot of oil. | |

| If you check all oil levels before your trip, you shouldn't need to worry about oil consumption in 3000km unless you have a leak. Mine uses very little oil between services. | |

| Apart from the fact it hasn't been rollerised, (If I remember your previous posts.) then just go ride. Yes, check the oil daily, if it drops below the 'Add' mark? Fill it to half way between the 'Add' and 'Full' Mark and keep riding.
When it starts to clatter due to the tappets going tits take it and get it rollerised.

| The 8V mill use little oil between services...never had to add any on my 2013 or my now departed 09. My 1100 on the other end...uses some but nothing out of the norm. The only thing I'd watch closely, is your tappets. The rest of the engine is bullet proof really. | |

| FWIW, I have never needed to add a drop of oil to either our Stelvio or GRiSO. The level never changes. | |
