| Took a longer ride the other day and noticed afterward I had drips of oil on the exhaust headers and timing belt cover. Both cylinders look try at the valve covers, head and base. There was also some oil collected in the left frame cover so it's spraying or getting thrown on the left side of the bike. Going to take a look at it this weekend. Any usual suspects I should look at first? First two are looking in on the timing cover and the second pair looking over the left header into the engine V. | 3rd & 4th pics there is a cover with 2 bolts & 'moto guzzi' on it, check that one. 3rd pic, cover with the sensor wire running to it, that leaks as well. Replace with a vitron O ring. Those are the first two suspects | |

| Looking at where it's coming from I'll take a stab and suggest the horrible rubber condom that covers the redundant breather port on the condensor box has ruptured. Pull off the left 'Wing' and have a look just below where the LH breather hose enters the condensor. | |

| Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Pete - had the left wing off to remove the Power Commander and this was the first good run since then. I might have displaced or damaged the 'condom' in the removal process. That might also explain the couple oil drips inside the left wing and on my side stand.

| The suggestions from the other guys are good too, it's just that it seemed to me to be coming from higher up. Check the breather hoses too, they're prone to hardening and cracking.

| The leak was probably two things: 1) the 'condom' thingy was torn at the clamp allowing oil to leak and 2) the sump has too much oil in it (about 2mm above the Max mark). Trimmed the thing back a bit and re-clamped on good material.
Doing an oil change so will watch the level on the refill
What the heck is that condom thingy called? I should order a new one before my repair fails.

| Have a look at Harper's site & look through the diagrams. That will give you the name & number. | |
