No, pins have to be over engineered, think about the consequences.

Next step is working out the CR. Then working out if we can modify the original, (Very nice.) Pistons to suit. I reckon we will be able to but there are issues there to do with heat and getting rid of it.

No, none of this shit is simple or purchaseable out of a can! Gakk!

Despite being hampered by the cold which cripples my hands I got round to cc-ing it yesterday and the great news is that the CR is 10.6 which is bang on the money. The fact that other vendors are going with alternative Pistons must be related to the balance factor rather than combustion chamber shape and size. Since I'm using a 1400 crank this is a non issue!

Mark's enquiries have shown that one mob in Europe are asking something preposterous like 2,000€+ per side for piston and barrel kits! And they insist they have to fit them! I personally think that if this engine proves worthwhile I'll be able to do the job with OE parts and do a full 'Strip to replace crank' build on an engine for less than the poxy aftermarket piston kits!
