My first GRiSO is on Route!

Hello all!

My name is Tommy, and i just purchased my first Moto Guzzi GRiSO!

She is awaiting delivery and i cant wait, so i thought id come and join the forum, as im sure ill have lots of questions about my new bike! Will send pictures of arrival soon!

Thanks for all the welcome messages, but I've had a bit of a bad start, the bike had an attempted theft, they cut the front brake hose, and ruined the front disk, any ideas where i can get good quality replacements for these parts for a 2013 GRiSO? Im in the UK.

Hi Tommy, presume they wrecked the disk (just one or both ?) and brake lines because you had a disk lock, else it would be hard to destroy just trying to wheel it away. Anyway there are loads of front disks around on ebay, gutsibits, TLM; the rear one is a rocking horse shit availability.......presume at 2013 it's rollerised ?

Hey Tommy, just up the road from me :-) good to see another local (ish) GRiSO rider. Gutsibits are probably best for stock, Twiggers in Loughborough have given up selling Guzzi's and now only do servicing, which is a shame.

Thanks for the info guys, ill check out ebay or guzzibits for a spare front disk.

Bad luck matey, you could try Gutsibits they advertise on the Bay of E. If it is good advice and service you need then as said earlier Twiggers of Loughboro.

Haha, no not Bransholme, this happened before I picked up the bike with its original owner in Swansea, but anyway, here is an update, new red lines from ProBrake Germany,new disks and paddock stand, ready to install this weekend. I need to know what torque setting disk bolts and brake line bolts need? Can anyone help me out? Also what DOT brake fluid? I have some DOT 4 so hopefully that will work.

DOT 4 is fine. Don't overtighten the brake lines less they leak. A firm nip all they need. Disc retaining screws are torqued to 30Nm.

Great,thanks mate, here's some pics of how the wheels are coming along now they've been cleaned, and had the new disks installed, also added the Moto guzzi wheel stickers back on!
