Anyone here know roundfins? Last time I was on the Le Mans it felt like a hobby-horse. Like no front suspension. Finally got a friend over to look at it while I sat on it and bounced around. We think I need springs, maybe dampers, certainly oil. How do I make sure what's what? How hard is the job? Anyone seen a tutorial anywhere? What components to buy? I weigh 250...and I would like this to be the last time this is done for a loong time.

Early Tonti forks are a piece of piss. Your dampers will be shagged out, buy a set of FAC's. Springs are now forty years old so they've probably lost their will to live too. Re-seal and add about 100ml of ATF to each leg. It's only in there for lubrication, the damping oil is sealed in the damper units.

On the other hand, if you want to modernize your bike but keep the original look, get a Bellagio or Cali EV front end. 45mm forks Internal cartridges that can be re-valved, mine are done. Compression and rebound adjusters. Gold Line 4 spot Brembo calipers. Forks are longer so your clip-ons will fit above the top triple.
Its only money! I'm looking for a Multistrada front end for mine.
