| Well, a 1000 miles running in period. Close to completion.
No big throttle openings. Kept it below 4000 revs.
The manual is useless.
Tell me how to run in a new GRiSO.

| Don't baby it. Ride it like it's been 5000 miles. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

Assume similar advice for a newly rollerized GRiSO? Understand fewer new parts need to "seat," etc., but assume some moderation is appropriate for those before flogging the beast as if in the lead at the Derby. Bill

| Did a rollerisation on a sport 12 a couple of weeks ago and it's first trip out it saw 193kph.
Really though just ride it *Normally*, a good trick is to find a steepish hill and then select a gear one higher than you'd usually use and give it a fistful going up. Repeat a few times, this will help bed the rings.
In quite a few of the bikes I've been putting 'C' kits in when the heads are off you can see the oil wash on the decks of the Pistons caused by too gentle a run in. It's a motorbike, not a Faberge Egg! No need to be stupidly gentle with it.

| Well, when mine was rollerized, I rode it home from Bungendore. By the time I got to the Federal Highway (about 11 miles) I figured it was 'run in', and for the next 7 miles on the Shingle Hill Way, flogged the living goolies out of it. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| While giving it the berries nonstop wouldn't be a good idea, babying it would be worse IMO. That mill likes to rev anyway... | |

| Arent they put on a dyno ,as opposed to a lap of the factory test track,to check they go and gear selection etc? Ride it normally, the manual says. They should come with a "note" for Officer Plod. | |

| You are all very kind. I've never had a new bike before. Today, I took it past 100. | |

Today, I took it past 100. As for "all very kind," you haven't been here long enough, and are being lured in by crafty old hands. Be wary. As for "took it past 100," would that be 100 miles or per hour? Either way, good for you. Bill

| I think he meant 100MPH...which is roughly 5500rpm in 6th gear of course. No hurt. | |
