Hi Guys

Browsing for bits and came across this oddity - looks interesting, but never heard on the brand. So is this shiney crap for bike bling lovers, or actually decent kit!

Awesome bling / Flea bay tat?

Just bling if you add it to your stock shock.

If you buy a high end aftermarket shock then this is a worthy extra, especially if you have a regular pillion.

MUPO nice shock?

Mupo's look OK - a bit lairy looking mind , and way too $$$$$ for me.

Well, I just had the Sachs rebuilt - and was persuaded to try with standard spring and mod to shim stack... lets see.... but point taken on the bling....

I know you all rate the Matris shocks, but still too spendy for me (esp for a well used '07 G11...) ... maybe next year.

If you weigh north of 90kg (200lb) you will need a spring rate of 10.5kg minimum.
Stock spring is 9.6kg, no amount of extra preload is going to help the ride.

Great if you had the Sachs rebuilt, that's a start. I'm assuming it has been re-valved.

Now, that Mupo hydraulic pre-load adjuster could be a worthwhile investment if you buy the correct spring for your weight. It will allow quick & easily adjustment for comfort and load variations.

ha - and so I reveal my ignorance ! Well the forks had shims adjusted - the shock has had something done to it, but was lost in translation... either way I left several hundred euro lighter, TBH I decided to go for the rebuild route on the grounds that I understood the SACHS shock is tough and dont leak...

it def. had a new seal and bump stop... a re-gas valve fitted , and maybe a revalve.... well something to make it less shit.

maybe next week I will get a chance to test it. will pull finger out of arse and stop faffing on fixing every little twatting problem and get it rideable
