| As part of my continuing spam program... 75k km's - mainly highway miles, so disc thickness is OK , but there's a shedload of play on the bobbins... Cant see any evidence of them wearing through, but anyone care to put my mind at rest? | |

| That sort of info probably (hopefully) available on other forums as well, such as the V11LeMans site - the 1100 Sports & V11's have floating discs. Probably also Ducati places. Must chase that info up myself before I head back to NZ. | |

| Mr Butter San,
although it seems bad, float in your front disks is a good thing - I believe you have the floating petal disks? Mine rattle like a babies rattle when mine is idling, but brake true. To have the fully floating calipers work well with the disks, all things need to move a little. | |

| I am going through the same problem on my '07. The front end was "klunking" and I traced it to the space between the floating disk and the carrier. Now my disk moves up/down/fore/aft at least 0.75 mm and probably more like 1 mm. The G11 has 41,000 miles on it with hard front brake use. I'm replacing them with new stock rotors that I'll check before I put them on. I don't mind any side to side play and a little rattle but I know the more fore/aft movement in the rim the greater the impact the carrier gets when it finally makes contact - which makes me nervous. Mine are like this: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

| Wow, I guess I'm just have shorter arms that you guys. Avere le braccine corteI saw the fancy rotors were to much for me (I couldn't get my short arms to reach my pockets) so I picked up a pair of stock from AF1 Racing here in the States. | oh god - there was me just about to pony up for some decent discs and pads, and now your tempting me with OEM bargains.... (that will take 4 weeks to get here, and the bastard customs twats will ádd a couple weeks of bs and import tax on to that.... ) well, easy aint cheap is it? ... but then ordering from Italy isnt exactly a brilliant idea either...
Will dig around on the Aprilia side... (will match my forks then... dropped them at the Suspension guru today - just a service , turns out to be an Italian guy who does mostly MX stuff - fingers crossed, but for sure will do a better job than me... a bit nervous about the shock overaul, he insisted we try first with the stock spring - which everyone has shat on on all the forums...hmmm )
