| My beastie got squished. No injuries, it happened while it was parked between two cars - another vehicle struck the parked cars into a crazy chain-reaction.
So the assessment is total loss.
I'm now left to consider whether to try to find another new 2014 Silver/Black GRiSO (sorry, don't like the Rosso Trophy) or switch over to a different platform. Monster 1200s? Tuono?
I've eliminated the RNineT from contention due to reports of over-heating mishaps. Living in Phoenix, that's a non-starter.

| There should be a heap of 2012/13 Diavolo Nero's around. I think MPH still had one before they ceased being a dealer or try MI.

| beetle: Exactly. Driveway. They caught the guy, but it doesn't really matter to my dead GRiSO. Pete: I did notice a left-over new 2014 in Dallas, TX. Excellent pricing. Anyone have any feedback on RPM Cycles? Overall, though, it'll be a while before the financials are all aligned once more. | |

| An old story, like '71, a couple of rich high school brats were drag racing down the main road after high school let out.
A side street car made a left hand turn onto the main road. The outside car went inside, the inside car went over the rolled-curb at 80 mph and launched. Then inside car hit a 48 hour old leased top-of-the-line Mercedes on the fly above the beltline then went onto a 1970 Firebird 400F and finally a 64 T-Bird all parked in my best buddy's driveway. Nobody was seriously hurt, the Merc. was "restored" by the leasing company never to be right again, the Firebird written off and the T-bird had a few bumps.
The punk driving was lucky the old man, my best friend's dad, didn't administer some "emergency care" to him.

| While I prefer big twins that Aprilia V4 is a wicked fun machine.
I would take the Ducati Monster over the Aprilia

| Check out Sloan's Motorcycles in Murfreesboro, TN. They had a new 2014 Silver/Black on the floor and they were anxious to move it out. Shipping to AZ shouldn't be a problem either. Ask for Frank Poag...phone is 615-225-6052. Good luck! | |

| Weighing the pros and cons, leaning heavily towards another GRiSO. It wasn't done with me, nor I with it. There were only 4500-miles on the odometer (give or take). There are many more GRiSO mysteries to explore.
It appears as if the local dealer may be phasing out MG, too. In new stock, RideNow Euro only has four Aprilias (all 2015s) and six MG (all 2014s). No Piaggios. Makes me wonder if they're cutting ties with Piaggio. Will make warranty repairs a little tougher with no dealer in Phoenix.
The Duc and the Ape options look very intriguing with ABS, DTC, and ride modes...but they're also more $$ and are ubiquitous. The Tuono doesn't break ties with Piaggio.
Thanks for the leads on GRiSO sales... I'll be sure to look into those.

| I like the Aprilia's, but there's no way I'd trade the super ease of maintenance of the Guzzi for the pretty much unusable horsepower of the Aprilia (or Ducati).
Didn't Pete say that the valve adjust on a Capo for example was about 8-10 hours or something silly like that?

| If you have the motors on the bench both the big twins and the V4's are a joy to work on, if you have the tools. Getting to the front bank with the engine in the frame is unspeakable!
Like you, while I love the V4's at least, I really can't be arsed with a *Leisure* vehicle so labour intensive. With the GRiSO I can do a full service, including brake and clutch bleed, in half a day and have time to spare!

| Have a look at the classifieds section. Bloke has just put up his Diavolo Nero, it's got a couple of GT extras but none of the real junk I don't think and hasn't got enough miles up to have been fucked over majorly by a shaved ape.

| Well, my GRiSO got hurt this past Monday...a stupid cunt turned in front of me. I was able to avoid her but lost control of the bike and went down on the right side. No broken bones but I'm pretty banged up. Right shoulder and lower back ribs give me trouble at the moment but I'll recover eventually. As for the bike, the usual damage... valve cover grinded off with a hole in it, oil cooler housing chewed up and of course the CARC. Might be totaled, not sure but if so, I'm in for the copper one if I can find one... Will post pics later when I get around it... | |

| Ah, rib pain. As you likely already know from this or prior experience, coughing, sneezing, and laughing are all bad. But, IMO, hiccups are the worst. BTDT, as many here have done -- with crashes (including GRiSO) and rib pain. Best wishes on recovery all around ... and assume you are having docs look at your injuries. When I lowsided mine two years ago, I feared totaling, but Progressive agent was super in working with dealer and me to avoid that. When only cosmetic, not structural, damage, seems a shame to write off a sweet machine. The CARC may be the warstopper, tho. Good luck with yours. Bill | |

| Sorry about your accident Pascal and hope you recover fully.
I know distracted/stupid drivers are everywhere and they especially seem to target motorcyclists. No offense to our Florida members, but I used to ride 1100 miles from Cleveland, Ohio once a year to see my elderly Mother who retired to Bradenton, FL. I had so many "close calls" from the senior drivers in that state, that I would park my bike once I arrived at my destination and not get back on it until I was ready to leave. A cop friend who serves that area (Sarasota/Bradenton) once told me it had the highest accident rate/capita of any place in the USA. I haven't ridden a bike in FL since my Mother passed. All the best to our members in Florida...you are a brave lot.
