I would like ABS.
But I don't want a mixed garage, some bikes with and some without.
While I am very guilty of most of the derisive stereotypes of Guzzi owners
I am part of the Fuck Suspenders Illuminati. Smile

I could not let this pass about ABS brakes. My BRAND new ABS equipped Sport after few months showed the ever popular ABS light on dash, which also disables the speedo and all the other info on the dash.I have had it back on 3 occasions, still not really fixed. This has been very frustrating to say the least. In my opinion, having the linked braking system which guzzi has used in the past is about as useful as the current ABS system. You can turn it off but that is not the point. If you want all the latest gadgets,I am sure there are numerous other bikes you could buy.The ABS unit seems to control not only the brakes but also the speedo and it won't help you at very low speeds on loose gravel. You still have to rely on your careful application of either brake. The KISS principal is lacking these days.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I don't want no stinkin ABS.

And the latest development of ABS allows hard application of brakes while cranked over on damp cobble stones.

Means in twenty years time, Beetle and I will be confined to the suspender snapping corn cob pipe brigade, with our vintage Guzzi's that actually require a rider to think and be actively involved in what he is doing, as opposed to the brain dead driverless cars we now share the roads with.

Maybe in september in Mandello we could see a first sign of what is coming next. It was 5 years ago they showed the 1400 engine there, and I made a picture of the developer laptop screen with a cali 1400 on it. At that time nobody knows what it would be like. I think they won't make that mistake again.
