| Hi GRiSO Ghetto-
Brand new here and thought I would introduce myself. I am in the SF Bay Area and was a V11 Sport rider for years (04-15). I *loved that bike* but just sold it after 30,000 miles to pick up a nearly-new 2014 GRiSO 8V 1200SE. I like the GRiSO so far, but I'm still not totally used to it- It rides and handles differently for sure. With only 300 miles of riding, here's my issue so far:
Fuel mileage is terrible. According to the computer I'm averaging 24 mpg with aggressive riding, and only 29 mpg when I ride like a grandma. The old Guzzi V11 averaged 37 mpg with aggressive riding (with the MG Race pipes/ ECU), so I'm down 13 mpg on a significantly newer bike. I have heard that these bikes improve mileage as they wear in (it's only got 1700 miles on it so far), so hoping for that. I have also heard that remapping the ECU helps. I do have an Agostini 2-1 collector and muffler on it now, so maybe thats affecting fuel mileage? Would love to hear everyones thoughts.
Excited to be here and thanks in advance for all your advice!

| Welcome. Aye, the GRiSO can drink it's fill when exercising the throttle hand. It will improve as you build up the miles, but will never be as good as the V11 unless it's remapped.
Which Agostini are you running? I'm working on maps for the X-Black and Megaphone (reverse cone) at present. Whomever designed the Ago collector has a a peanut-sized brain. It does nought for the 8V. The Arrow version is superior, but still requires clever mapping. For best results the stock pretzel can't be beaten. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! .

| Beetle-- Thanks for the thoughts-- I'm reading that now-- I might go back to the stock 2-1 pretzel after all... I'm running the Black Steel Slip-On with cone end cap. I actually bought it at Agostini this summer while I was on vacation at Lake Como! (MG Factory was closed unfortunately).
Dumb question, but how to I actually revise the map? What do I need to change that?

| Oh yeah-- One other issue with the 2 -1 from Agostini-- It leaks!! I can actually feel exhaust blowing on my hand when its near the pipe and it backfires and pops on decel quite a bit! | |

There you go, a good reason to ditch it. As for remapping, have read of the GuzziDiag thread here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Once you've got your cables and a handle on GuzziDiag, I should have the Megaphone map done, which is what yours may be from your description. Post a pic to be sure. Load map -> have fun. | Welcome Jay. I was similarly disappointed with the fuel economy until I loaded up a Beetle map. Get yourself the cables and remap and your fuel consumption will improve considerably. Beetle is a bona fide fueling wizard who donates considerable time and effort just so that Grisos and their riders can be happier. Most of us here have benefitted from his talent and work.

| And make sure it has a decent tune, either done yourself or by a Guzzi wrench. Ed Milich might be an option down in the Mission district. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2012 MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 1200SE2013 MOTO GUZZI STELVIO 1200NTX - Orange Blossom Special | |

| Ed is moving his shop ( tomorrow actually) across the bridge to San Rafael. The SF millionaire techies have priced out his shop area. He says he has 10,000lbs of old Ducati and Guzzi stuff for sale, plus if you even show up he will give a signed copy of his book " Bottom dead center" lol.

| Even for a bone head like me that resists putting the spud in the pipe (even though the wisdom is to do it). | |
