| i have always lusted after a GRiSO, but never had a chance to test ride one. after buying a large number of ducatis (not as many as Sidrat, but seven in total, and i still have four) and a few BMWs and a harley, i decided to throw caution to the wind and buy one from out of town without trying it.
let me first say, that i love the ride -- i think the fueling is fine, though i've heard the complaints. i think it sounds delicious even with the factory silencers (i've already ordered a full titanium arrow setup). and i love the seat and the reach to the bars, and the stability and and and. but it's just too short for me from peg to seat. i've already dropped the pegs one inch with the knight design kit and still, my knees are killing me after my first few hundred miles. i've only put 200 miles on her!
so what to do? i don't want to spend years trying to adjust the ergos and never getting it right, as i've already done that on monsters. having other bikes that fit perfectly, from a diavel to an r nine t, and even the hog, it just reminds me of how cramped my long legs are on the GRiSO (i'm 6'3", btw, with about a 36" inseam). do i just send back the arrow kit and try to sell it on? or is there some hope?
appreciate advice | |

| Raise the seat with more padding. Go to the gym. |

| When I had my 1100 I used to get twinges in the hips, I'm 6' 3 and 18 stone, it was the main reason I swapped it for a Sport, which doesn't look as good but its still in the same family, twinges gone. | |

| The Sport has you sitting further back by and inch or two, seat height is lower, bars are further away, tank is much bigger. You can only try is, as Tolle says | |

| Corbin seat adds height. About 3/4". Do you ride hard through the twisties, or just cruise? KD make 1-5/8" & 2" lower pegs if you're just a cruiser. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Congratulations on your new GRiSO Showerfan, but if he doesn't speak to you, then it does no good if you yell at him.

| 6' 4" here as well 36" inseam.
I had a custom seat made which deleted the tool cubby so the driver's position was set back and up. The new seat is pretty flat from tank to passenger bump. Knight design 1" drop footpegs.
I spent a total of six hours in the saddle today.
My V11 Sport had ergos similar to the GRiSO. I thought it was a rack of pain but gradually got used to the stock seat and pegs. If I had kept it longer I would have modded it.

| I tried lowered pegs (same 36" inseam) and that helped. Russell Day Long seat REALLY helped a lot. But it looks "meh". I had earlier picked up a spare stock seat to be customized and that was finally finished up last week. It's focus will be in town riding, possibly day rides. Supposed to look better than the RDL (it does) feeling better than stock (it is). I don't expect it to be as good the RDL for long rides.
I also added the ROX bar risers and that has helped the total posture.
So you have some options.

| Showerfan. Lots of good advice before this post. Don't know how old you are but we all loose flexibility if we don't exercise and stretch a lot. I'm only 5' 11" and noticed some joint discomfort in the begining and I'm 58. I think a lot can be worked out with some stretching on a regular basis and exercise, but, if that's too much of a commitment, maybe time to move on. It's a great bike to give up on too easy. | |

| I'm 6'1" and facing the same issue, and considering just going to a Stelvio. Thing is I rode a friends and while extremely comfortable, it's just not as fun. My plan is to get the 1" lower pegs and flatten/raise my seat by another inch, maybe with the Corbin.
First, however, I'm going to tape measure peg to seat distance on both the GRiSO and Stelvio. I suspect I'd need to add 3-4 inches to reach Stelvio comfort.

| I just added clip-ons to my bike and the only place they fit was under the top clamp. Great up in the hills but living hell on my wrists and back when I ride every where else. I don't remember this being a problem when I was 25. | |

| If you love the bike and it loves you back its worth a bit of trial and error. I sometimes get off feeling a little cramped, but only normally when i stop and stop smiling!
I have looked at lowering the bars a little, but its just so comfy and great stance to ride a bike i have left it. My change is going to be a new longer rear shock to raise the back end (a stelvio shock) and change the steering a little, even thought the seat footrest distance would stay the same you could lower the pegs even further to compensate.
i hope you keep it, as it really is a special bike

| I am in complete agreement with sidrat. The GRiSO is a bit raw and needs to be "fitted" to you but it is 1000% better to fettle a GRiSO than buy a Honda Refrigerator (VFR). | |
