Just dry fitted the Comet fairing designed for the CB1100 (I have it for my......wait for it.....CB1100). The signal stalks are in the way so remounting those or severely notching the fairing to accommodate. Otherwise, it has possibilities. They are pricy so I won't be getting one to play with.
Normally I have the Givi A770, which I think suits the GRiSO extremely well. Going naked I notice the pressure on the torso quickly. However; while touring it does nothing to break the wind off the shoulders so I added a MRA with Laminair lip, works very well (so well I bought a mount for the CB, but there is seems to be less workable. Damn. Bought a Slipstreamer for the winter months for the CB. Shortly after that I got a deal on the Comet 1. Now I'm thinking it just may stay.
I'd love to have a frame mounted sport fairing, say the one on the Tenni Sport? Damn she looks good.
I like naked bikes, but once on the road, I like something to keep the bugs and birds off me. As well as the nasty wind that happens when you have to drone on the freeway.

I stripped all the accessories off the 1100, and rode it to Seattle to get the new 1200. I really missed the 770! It's gloss black and looked good on the black 1100. Now I will get it painted to match the new rosso and black scheme - rosso on the lower portions and black on the upper part that surrounds the plexi - matte of course to match the bike's lack of gloss. which I wasn't wild about at first but I'm beginning to like. That orange-y red matte may be hard to match, but I hear there's no paint code available from MG. A good paint shop should be able to come close enough, so it's worth a try.
I'll be pulling the right-side wing to pull wire for the gps and phone, so the wing will go with the fairing to the painter.

I also have the GIVI 770 and I painted it to match my black devil's scheme. For the black I used single stage low gloss black paint and added some metallic and voila! I have the perfect match. For the silver, I simply got something real close in base coat at the paint store and applied matte clear on top. Came out great.

The fairing most seem to "love to hate". This parabellum has an 8" shield on it, which is lower than the smallest they advertise (10"). It does a good job -functionally but is bigger than what Street came up with which I also like. To each his own, I suppose.........

I changed my mind on the 2-tone paint job and decided to wrap my Givi with matte black vinyl wrap. It turned out OK, but not great - numerous flaws, but it was my first attempt working with 3M 1080 vinyl wrap. This fairing was not the best piece to learn on - quite a bit of profanity was uttered during the ordeal.
I guess it passes the 10-foot rule: looks OK from 10 feet away. Or maybe 20. I do like the matte black.
The only part worthy of a closeup: the little enamel logo that replaced the Givi logo. The red oval started its life as a stickpin. I have no idea where I got it. Popped the pin off the back and stuck it on with more 3M stuff - the real aggressive double-sided foam tape used for auto trim.

There have been many fairings i have seen on many different GRiSO's and none have really floated my boat, i simply have one of the screens, but i am not a big fan of the looks, as it makes it more cruiser than roadster.
I like the look of the one below, looks like and old Laverda fairing, so my poll says should i keep looking for a fairing, ride a little slower so i don't need one, or simply man up!

Here's my little Givi fly screen. Never did paint it, just put a couple of stickies on it instead. I think it looks pretty neat, and I think it actually might do something, but I'm not sure. At 70-75 mph it feels fine.
There you go Cantaloop, that one suits the GRiSO nicely. At least to my eye.

Yes indeed, that one looks like it was made for the GRiSO...
I'm still going to rock the OEM bikini job though, digging the minimalism.
