As my decent into decrepitude advances, I find I am less tolerant* of wind noise & turbulence. The no-fairing/screen scenario is bliss by comparison to *any* fairing/screen thus far.

But no bugs on the instrument panel. Much easier to clean off the screen.
Ideal!

Just put a wet towel on it for about 5 to 10 min, after that you can just wipe them off
but its surprizing how bad or good some windshields can be. Had a R1150GSA with a small extra screen on the bike. It helped for 2 things, one, me sitting up straighter which allowed me to ride longer and me being able to drive 150kmh with a my flipup helmet flipped up without the wind pulling on my helmet. The KTM on the other hand ... terrible. Its like those guys never put it in the wind tunnel or made some basic flow calculation/simulations. 120kmh is fast enough ... the buffering is really bad. My BMW R1100S is great again. no wind on the chest but also no buffering on the helmet. For my V50 NATO it doesn't matter. Driving above 100kmh is scary I dunno, maybe the GRiSO was never ment to have a screen and a little helmet shake at 220kmh is not so terrible i guess

I know. I said I'd give it a rest. I may have exaggerated...slightly.
Final iteration. Lowered the Stryker a bit. The short screen is of similar height to the Piranha, and noise level is on par. Some GIMPing to add colour. It is decided. Street?

Thumbs up from another fairing user. Like the orange accents you had on.

The 'Too much orange' comment I will ensure is written as your epitaph on the piece of bark left on top of your shallow grave after Leah gets hold of you......

I like it. Sure, a bit of orange would be nice too. How is that screen working for you now, Mark? The original one has a bit of an up-lip, I'm surprised that didn't do anything for you. It works for me, but of course we're all built differently.

The lip on the Stryker screen caused turbulence. It bothered me greatly. I had the Stryker on for our Flinders trip in 2016 and removed it when I got home. I'm 6' 2", FYI. In the last few weeks, experimenting with different screens sizes and shapes has proven to me that as much as a tall screen helps reduce buffeting greatly at speed, I hate the noise it creates more than anything. Yes, I use ear plugs. The screen I had on pre-crash, and the Dart Piranha I replaced it with let me ride in relative blissful silence by comparison. The original RCS brake & clutch reservoirs sticking up on their stalks also appear to have created some turbulence as well. The new Motocorse reservoirs have reduced it significantly. It may be that the lip and reservoirs-on-stalks worked in unison to worsen the turbulence. The screen I made for the Stryker is much lower than the lipped screen, and approximately the same height as the Piranha. In short, yes I like it. Wind noise is on par with the Piranha or no screen.

Glad you've found something you can live with. My experience is obviously very different - I'm a little person.
