I decided to do a first service on the new to me Stelvio (MY2011) but first registered in December 2013. I got a very pleasant surprise when I removed the rocker covers to check the valve clearances and was met by a lovely set of rollers
I wasnt expecting this as I thought that they were only fitted from mid 2012 on! I doubt that they were retro fitted as the bike had just under 10k miles done with 2 services recorded in the service book.
During the service I found a bolt cross threaded in one of the engine bars, both idle by pass screws open in the throttle bodies and the valve clearances sloppy
so much for main dealer service reliability? I closed the by pass screws and balanced the TB's and Surprisingly the cylinders were pretty well balanced and I left both screws closed. When I went to buy her I had checked that all yellow paint was in tact
I'v reset TPS and new oil and am very happy wlth the unexpected bonus of the rollers but I wasnt too concerned as the GRiSO has the flat tappets and goes like the clappers
At least when you do it yourself you know what's been done!
