One thing that surprised me a bit was that early roller tappet 1200's used cambox/rocker assemblies with only one 'Plug Tube'. I thought logic would dictate that when the swap started at about the time the Cali 14 was launched that they would simply use the later, twin plug, camboxes.
It seemed not. All the early bikes still had 'Single Plug' boxes. That seemed to me to be a silly disparity as it would require two different castings. Also all the roller upgrade kits were 'Twin Pluggers'.
Well they must of just been using up old stock because Charlie's new bike has a 'Twin Plug' casting. This isn't to say that the new 1200's use two plugs per cylinder like the 1400's, they don't, but the provision is there in the cambox casting. It makes sense.
