| I am going to do this, or as much of it as I can, myself. The one thing it says to do that I am not keen on doing is changing the fork oil. Is this really necessary at this milage? What kind of average use milage does it take to tire out the fork oil?
It looks like an involved job and I have never changed the oil on a set of inverted forks.

| If I were you I'd take the forks to a suspension specialist. The Showas are about the commonest fork in the world so most tuning shops can service, and set them up for better performance, in their sleep. The GRiSO forks are under-sprung and over-damped. Setting them up correctly works wonders. I'd leave the fork oil until you do this. I did.

| So, I can wait a bit. 10,000 miles OK for an oil change? I will see what Pro Italia says as to cost. Not quite ready to hang the GRiSO from the rafters to get the forks out yet. | |

| No need to hang him. I used my service stand and a chock under the sump when I pulled my forkies. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| OK, I can do that. Also, is a fork oil change at 10,000 Ks recomnded or is this overkill. What interval do you change your fork oil? | |

| 24,000 km (16,000 miles). Only because I got my fork cartridges upgraded. If I hadn't done that, I probably wouldn't have bothered until 50,000 km. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| OK, same as my Buell was. That sounds more reasonable. What was the upgrade you got? | |

| My manual says 30 thousand miles... I wouldn't worry if I were you but properly set, the Showa forks are great if you weight under 200lbs. Some folks, mostly tall bastards, are never satisfied with the OEM set up it seems. | |
