| Ok so yesterday my bike ran fantastic but today it got hot to the point that my oil cooler cover got warped and it is popping and snapping on overrun and I can smell an almost burnt oil/lean odor when even at idle when it warms up and when I come to a stop at lights/signs. I am COMPLETLY stock minus Marks Stock tune which has been AMAZING for the past 2 months without issue. I DID check my CO trims and they are still at +3 where I set them when I did the tune and did a TPS reset and it set at 4.6 degrees. My question is and I THINK might be the cause. Does this bike 100% require 93+ Octane? I did out of desperation as I was about to run out of gas have to go to a hole in the wall very sketchy gas station that only had 87 . FYI this was a week or so back. Is it possible it is just a plugged up injector? It ran fantastic till today even last evening it ran great no popping or studdering I am nearing the end of my current tank of fuel which was 93 octane. | |

| Check the plug caps. Just take the covers off and look and listen for the spark anapping to earth. | |

| Found the issue. BAD BAD BAD batch of gas. Went and put some SHELL 93 octane in and it ran IMMEDIATELY better | |

| Glad you were able to figure out what was going on with your bike!
Semi-off topic, but on the subject of good and bad gas, I got in the habit of running 90 octane ethanol free fuel religiously in my last bike (Triumph Daytona 675R) and I swear just seat of the pants dyno that bike ran better and made more power on the corn-free gas.
So I've been using the same 90 octane non-ethanol in the GRiSO, especially with the plastic tank and all I figured it was a good idea, but I also have 92 octane "premium" 10% ethanol gas available, any thoughts on whether the extra octane rating is a good idea for the GRiSO? | |

| "premium with ethanol" is an oxymoron. If it were me, I'd stick with the 90 Octane unspoiled stuff. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Agree that the type of fuel makes a big difference in how the bike performs. My agricultural diesel fuel supplier also supplies me with ethanol free 93 octane gasoline. None of the major brand gas stations here have ethanol free fuel anymore, so I refuel at home...it's worth it as the GRiSO and my wife's V7 run noticeably better. | |

| I agree I've ran a few tanks ethanol free through the GRiSO and it seems to idle and run much better. | |
