| Good god no! We've probably confused you because most of us are old farts who grew up with imperial measurements! 6 and 8 are thousands of an inch! In metric measurements the clearances are 0.15 mm and 0.2 mm for inlet and exhaust valves respectively.

| Thx Pete and guzzi cat. Disaster averted.I'm running a map from Mark. I will be resetting the tps and the autolearning. I'm thinking this is the right procedure.

| Is it not stated elsewhere in this forum that the clearances for the 2015 GRiSO 8V are .004 and .006, or am I just confused? | |

| As far as I know the clearances were changed in about 2010 from 0.1 and 0.15, (4&6 thou) to 0.15 and 0.2, (6&8 thou.). If they have now been changed back to the earlier figures it will be for noise abatement purposes. If you're running the stock closed loop map it won't make a jot of difference. If you're running an open loop map it definitely will. Interestingly now my bike is rollerised it's starting and warm up are different. I haven't had a chance to take it out for a serious flog yet to ascertain if it has has a major effect on performance but I'll be shortly rollerising Mark's and I'm sure that he'll go into an anally retentive frenzy and work out what, if anything, needs to be tweaked for differences between the roller and flat motors. | Fwiw Pete, will be interested in what you find re. the difference. Perhaps I missed this but what was the condition of your flat tappets when you switched over to the roller design? | |

**** Pete Oh, good. This will give me something to do when I get back home from Atlanta and Kathi is gone. I set 'em at 4T & 6T last month, but, sadly, have not ridden it. Did start it to ensure I'd set 'em TDC, and will now no doubt need roller tappets sooner, I suppose. [Just kidding, Pete; don't flay me! ] Bill | |
