| Apologies if I've managed to post this twice !
Is there any alternative to the ludicrously priced MG belly pan ? They are £400 in the UK.
I like the look of them, and presumably they would help keep the oil temp up were I ever mad enough to actually ride my bike in the winter rain, by deflecting water off the sump.
Cheers

| I wonder if the LeMans chin scoop from Airtech could be adapted to work. It's only $83. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Or maybe one of the generic, vintage belly pans... | Stucchi make one don't they? I have a customer who has a pan of some sort, I think it was from Stucchi? Personally I think they spoil the lines of the bike but each to their own.

| As far as I know, Stucchi makes the only one, it was mis-attributed to MG. It IS spendy, and I agree with Pete regarding the looks. The GRiSO doesn't need to try to look like a Norge, in my opinion either... --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2012 MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 1200SE2013 MOTO GUZZI STELVIO 1200NTX - Orange Blossom Special | |

| I have used a bunch of airtech stuff and it is good, but most of what I got from them was RACE WEIGHT parts. these are thin and light. You used to have to ask them to make street weight parts, these are a little thicker and more durable. the big thing with glass body work is to use rubber mounts if possible and do not stress it much at the install. | |

| Thanks for all the replies.
I think the 'MG' one is the Stucchi one. From the pictures I've seen it was quite unobstrusive, I certainly don't want to clutter the look, but thought I might also have some practical use. At £400 it's no going to happen anyway.

| No feelings need be hurt, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I've done a lot of weird/unique stuff to GRiSOs. Not everyone shared my visions, but I've liked what I did. There is nothing wrong with making a unique motorcycle more unique, except for that gawd awful monstrosity of a saddle that Roper bought. There is no justification in that...

| Bite your arse Steve! . Its about comfort, not looks. (But having ridden on the damned thing I think its worse than the stocker 99% of the time.) Really I bought it because I thought it was an option for a future 'Round Oz' trip. I'm fully aware its as ugly as sin but if you are thinking of 18,000 Km in the saddle, which is what *my* sort of trip would involve 'Looks' are secondary. I also want to do it to lay to rest the reliability reputation of the flat tappet engine! I still can't get mine to break! Pete | |
