Do any body know if the Valve Covers labeled "late" and "early" in the guzzi parts catalog, fit any engine the same?

Nope. The early type fit early, pre late 2011 motors that have the 'Long' plug tube that seals with an o-ring in the rocker cover.
The 'Later' type fit engines where the cambox is machined so that a neoprene gasket of the same cross section as the rocker cover gasket is used to seal the plug hole and although there is still a plug tube it only goes between the head and the bottom of the cambox.
It is my understanding the change was made due to corrosion causing issues with leaks with the o-ring in the rocker cover system.

Damn. There is quite a price difference between them. How can I check if mine is late or early? Is there a engine # or any other way to know ?

Take it off and look.
If you can't do that then peer down the tube. If there is a 3-4mm black stripe about 2cm down the tube it's a late type.

If anyone has the early type and needs O-rings I have some extras still in the packaging. Free, I'll even spring for the stamp.
Which is the official Triumph shop in Slovaquia and unfortunatly, they robbed me...
So I would like to know if it is possible to buy one new or second hand somewhere ?
Thanks a lot :-)

Have those: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ever been discussed here? ;-)
Have found this image: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Maybe such a simple protection makes sense - could avoid grinding a hole in your valve cover.

No obvious sign how they mount but the description seems to indicate they use the block or timing chest cover as mounting points. That means you smash your block or timing chest, or both, rather than writing off a valve cover.
Unlike the Spineframe series CARC bikes crash well.
More wallet pillaging nonsense. Avoid.

Pete I know that you have "special relation" to GTM Personally I am not interested in crash bars. Here you can see how they are mounted: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Upper mount simply lassos the tank “wing” bolt stud.
In my opinion this cannot work. Simply look at the welding of those bolt studs where they are mounted to the frame.

People think my dislike is personal.
It isn't.

Are the bars from Hepco & Becker also mounted on those studs? Does this really work?

If I thought there were any bars that could do a reasonable job I'd probably have them on my old crate.
