| Hi, Just a quick note to introduce myself. If things work out I'll be picking up a 2012 Tenni Green GRiSO on Saturday. I've been riding a bit over 30 years and the GRiSO will be joining my Victory Vegas and Yamaha WR250X to round out the stable. I decided to buy a Moto Guzzi last summer when I took one on an extended test ride: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the next few weeks. Really looking forward to Sunday morning when I'll be introducing the GRiSO to some of my favorite roads. later, Hugh | |

| Super. Enjoyed following your Euro travels over on wildguzzi. At least one other GRiSO (in that same odd color you bought ) in this area. Another GRiSO in Great Falls. No doubt others. Stop in sometime if near Cross Junction (10 miles NW of Winchester on 522). Bill | |

| Picked it up on Saturday and got to take it for a couple hundred miles on Sunday. Love the bike. It's currently too loud and too thirsty but I think that can be sorted out. The bike has GT-Rx Shorty pipe and a GT 02-Optimizer on it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

Congratulations, you've finally shed your priestly robes and answered the call of the GRiSO! No more Don Abbondio for you. | I can't recommend strongly enough that you remove the 'Optimiser' immediately as using it risks serious engine damage. Shorty pipe will make it run like a dog. Probably the reason the PO sold it.

| The bike seems to run really well even though I only got 33 MPG on a ride which normally would be seeing my other bikes at their best MPG values.
The shorty pipe doesn't even have the db killer in it so it's stupid loud. I'm going to put the db killer in but I'll most likely be replacing the muffler as soon as I figure out what I want and what works.

| You should be getting 42-44 mpg on a high efficiency route with proper fueling. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2012 MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 1200SE2013 MOTO GUZZI STELVIO 1200NTX - Orange Blossom Special | |

| Remove the poxy optimizer immediately. Pull your main fuses to reset the trims. Install the dB killer. The big G may run a bit squirrelly unitl you ridden it a bit to re-trim, but your fuel mileage will go up. What's the oil smell like? Pop one of the valve covers off. If you smell fuel, change the oil immediately. Oh, and welcome. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Welcome roam and congrats on the new ride.
Looks like you've got an aftermarket midpipe there, or is that part of the GT-Rx exhuast?
I had a read through your Euro trip blog and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the link.

I had a read through your Euro trip blog and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the link. Ugh, with that short, no dBk can, a non-pretzeled mid-pipe, and a sensor fooler I'm surprised it runs very well at all. Certainly your mid-range power is crap. Please tell us you've still got an intact, stock airbox lid and a proper, paper air filter... --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2012 MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 1200SE2013 MOTO GUZZI STELVIO 1200NTX - Orange Blossom Special

| That's what I was thinking, it sounds like it's got the full gamut of GT jiggery-pokery, no wonder the PO sold it

| Removed the link. Anyway I really don't want the OP to think I'm a complete arsehole!
Thing is as you know, I know exactly how risky a variable resistor in the O2 sensor circuit can be. I just don't want some other poor fucker killing their engine in the belief that because it's smoother it is a.) faster and b.) in a better state of tune.
I have several customers with single O2 sensor smallblocks but these bikes use the 15MRC that have, seemingly, very good results with these widgets but I've simply seen too many cases of high risk symptoms and sometimes catastrophic outcomes with their use on W5AM bikes. Things like the DREADFUL fuel consumption figures have to put up a red flag! The poor thing is going to be swimming in fuel! I'm surprised the dash isn't throwing a major spazz! There simply won't be enough oxygen in such a mix to combust properly and that means waste on all sorts of levels and the dange of bore wash and accelerated ring, cam chain and guide wear.
Most importantly there is simply NO NEED for such ghastly kludges. None at all.
Pete

| I'll remove the fuel optimizer, put in the DB killer, smell the oil, sacrifice a goat, and reset the fuses before the next ride. | |

| No need to sacrifice the goat. A quick dance around the GRiSO whilst wearing goat leggings will suffice. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Sounds like the PO spent a shitload of dough on the 'products' too, from what I've seen, another case of more is less. | |
