various additives to fight ethanol

Even though I am able to use ethanol free 91 octane in my bikes most of the time I do have to turn to additives such as Star Tron(which I have had no problems with) on occasion. I saw a couple of others that cause trapped water to dissipate enough in the fuel to allow it to be burned along with the fuel. The 'shake' test of gas plus additive plus water also shows that the emulsion stays mixed longer than Star Tron.
The other additives are : K100, Polaris Carbon Clean. Any comments or opinions on the subject?

The funny thing is we used to add a dollop of alcohol to our petrol back in the day because it's hygroscopic and allowed water in the tank from condensation or bad tanking at gas stations to be drawn through the engine. Now it's added to fuel in the mistaken belief it's 'Helping the environment' but nobody mentions that benefit!

We used to put "Heet" in the gas tank to prevent gasline freezing.  Different kind of alcohol, though, and I don't believe our cars had any plastic in them 40 some years ago.  No one rode a motorcycle when it was that cold, but we always found water in the float bowl when we pulled apart a carb.

Back on topic, I religiously use StarTron in the tank of my Dorsoduro. There are too many stories of people taking off the tank and not being able to get them back on due to swelling. I don't know if its 100% caused by ethanol or if there are issues with improperly vented tanks due to the evap canisters (mine is gone).

Lucas have a product out now for stabilizing ethanol fuels.

Scroll down to the "Safeguard" product .............. says nothing about plastic fuel tank swelling.

I am trying to find some sort of comparison test where these conditioners are tested side by side -ideally.
I like the idea (claim?) that a conditioner would do more than just separate the water from the gas and would burn it with the fuel which is what the K100 and Polaris products allegedly do. I will keep the Lucas product in mind too.
