| Hi all, on my 2007 1100cc the idle is all over the place, in gear with the clutch in it often sits at 2000 rpm yet in neutral it drops down to 1200ish. i have fitted a GPR end can but it was pretty much doing the same thing with the standard one,, any thoughts as where i live their is no Guzzi main agents at all within 50 miles plus i would love to fix it myself if i can, cheers | |

| 1.) Has anybody tried to adjust the idle speed by turning the throttle stop screw? It should be sealed with a dab of yellow paint.
2.) Are both the air bleeds open? At most only one should be.
3.) Are you in the habit of keeping the oil level at the 'Full' mark on the dipstick?
4.) How many miles/km since the TB's were last removed and given a thorough cleaning?
5.) When was the airbox last drained!

| I had some high idle issues. It was the bike "talking" to me. The bike wanted a tune up. | |

| What I would recommend is you just check the bleed screws but then return them to where they are if they are both open and take the bike to someone who knows what they are doing.
If you want to learn how to tune your bike properly there are instructions on the net or perhaps I should do a write-up here? It's so easy it's not funny BUT you do need to have the tools to do it. You can't do it in your garage with your dad's lawnmower spanners and a ball peen hammer!

| I love Roper write ups. Ive tracked some of them down over various forums over the past year.
We need a central Roper location....

| Tony, I think we should call it "Roper Room". (where only Pete can post. you ask a dumb question somewhere else, and Pete will just post a link)
For the Northeners, we used to have a TV show for toddlers, called "Romper Room" |

| As Wayne says, call it Romper Room or better yet, Romper Stomper! Pete, you can then hide somewhat as it isn't your name but refers to other things. Or we could go with something like "The Proper Guzzi method".
Sorry to hijack the Tick Over topic.

| Romper Stomper would only be suitable for swastika wearing members of the BMW club, would it not? |

| Romper Stomper (didn't Kylie Minogue do knickerless handstands in that) sounds better than OY DO IT LIKE THIS because this this will happen, and why. Or you could do something along the line of "Get rooted at the tree of knowledge." Look forward to it. | |

| You lot crack me up . If you had the time to do a tune up guide Pete that would be fantastic, i have a fair tool kit and access to a lot more luckily.. honestly there are very few if any that i could take it to that would know much more than me, that's how bad it is around here. If it was Honda no problem, i mentioned my problems to the owner of our only Motor cycle dealer in the area and he said what's a GRiSO? shrugged his shoulders and mentioned a rolling road man they sometimes use. i made my excuses and left thinking i will have to do this myself, then it dawned on me that i already know the best people to ask for help.. that gives me a lot more confidence.. | |

no shit? This reminds me of why women are smarter than men. People will ask me "What's that?" and I say "Moto Guzzi". Then they ask "Who makes it?" and I get annoyed. So my late wife Terrie informed me What I was doing wrong and How. She told me that I should answer the first question "GRiSO" and THEN I am correctly placed for the next question therefore saving myself the Usual Frustration caused by idiots that can't think.
