| Tomorrow I'm taking delivery of a new GRiSO. I've never sat on one, never seen one and so tonight I'm sat here wondering what the hell have I done? I'm 56 and live near Inverness (Scotland not California). Why am I doing this - well 40 yrs ago I had great fun and falls on a Yamaha FS1E. I decided when I left school I would graduate to a Benelli Sei but my mum stepped in and (probably) wisely taught me to drive cars. 5 yrs ago I rekindled my biking interest, passed the test and bought a big BMW. After 2 or 3 bikes I have realised something is missing! I'm hoping it's the Black Beast.
Tomorrow we find out! Chaipaval | |

| Hello, I bought mine , a secondhand 1100 without seeing it, on ebay and a 3 legged train journey to where it was living, didn't really know what they sounded like, or what it would run / handle like . Any doubts soon disappeared, sometimes you just have to take a gamble . | |

| Thanks for all the responses. Well she arrived safe in the dark in the middle of a gale so she was tucked away for the night. Today the weather gods relented and we ventured out.
She's a beaut and you lucky sods have been riding her sisters for years! My instant reaction is so comfortable, beautifully balanced and assured on the road. I quickly relaxed and enjoyed the thrum of the engine. Decided I like her just the way she is and cancelled the screen which wasn't supplied as ordered.
Catch you all again

| This has been a rough winter - gale after gale since mid-December. Power was down again last night but today is beautiful blue, calm and warm enough to ride - 45f. I can't get over how agile the GRiSO is after my previous BMWs. Even about town she's fine but weaving through bends at speed is a true pleasure. I'm 6ft 1in and comfortable aboard - wouldn't change a thing. I'm already running errands to find a reason to ride. Looks like she enjoys the juice as the fuel reserve light came on sooner than I expected but it was hard to tell how much fuel was in to start with. Another gale due tomorrow and then we might get a hint a spring.

| You just discovered the REAL problem owning a GRiSO. After spending a day riding my GRiSO I park it in my garage and then I want to get Right Back On and ride some more. How many other bikes leave you feeling that good? Exactly.

| Loading up a proper fueling map from Sir Beetle will improve your fuel economy significantly, and smooth out the snatchy throttle around town. Imagine your GRiSO made even better. Check out the threads here on Beetle's maps. | |
