| So here is the little beauty, seat off ready for some seeing too. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]First job was to cover up the oil cooler. Beetle may say i need to ride faster, but trust me we don't hang around in this part of the world, so lets get GRiSO to get a little hot under the collar. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then while we up the front it was time to add the front mudguard extension, those little black pins go in a treat! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then finally did the rear mudflap install. I cut the rubber as per the pattern, then took the battery out and the airbox cover off. Interestingly i found this inside? any ideas? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Took off the fuse holder at the back of the seat and took out the two bolts holding the air box in. Pushed the rubber into place and bolted the airbox back in. I was not happy with how tight it was as i could still pull it back out. So i drilled two holes into the corner and put a tie wrap into it and looped two more to it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I then threaded the two tie wraps up underneath the airbox and looped them around each of the bolt tags for the air box, this will stop the rubber falling out. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]So this is what it looks like [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then finally spent 10 minutes trying to find the TOMTOM connector, now that was really hidden!! | |

| On a Ducati you get a fly in the paint, on a Guzzi you get foam. Go figure.... | |

| The story goes that a round case 750ss supposedly had a fly encased in the paint. The round case 750 SS was the hot ticket back in the early 1970's, actually winning Imola. The legend is that a new 750SS was being prepared for shipment at the Ducati factory at Bologna. The 750 SS had a fiberglass tank with a gel coat. After finishing the paint the Ducati workman took a break, maybe for some vino or maybe some afternoon amore. In any event when he came back to the bike he was horrified to find that a fly had affixed itself to the wet gel coat. There is disagreement as to the actual location but most people seem to think that the offending fly was stuck to the side of the tank. But I digress, the Ducati workman solved the problem by adding another coat of gel there by trapping the fly for posterity and giving birth to one of the great legends in Italian Motorcycling. I have been a Ducati enthusiast for many years and have had a few Ducati's, sadly none of them had the fly. | |

| True story about the fly in the paint , Ive had Ducatis for years and they have been great bikes, never really had any major problems and they are much fun to ride. Quality control has improved 10 fold since 1974 ...just like Guzzi has The Italian connection is evident in both brands i would say.. | |

| The piece of foam is from the inside of the snorkel. There are two of them that are supposed to be glued in there. I have no idea of their purpose. None at all! Pete | |

So everyone says, certainly i only do longer trips (greater than 30 miles) each time i go out and get on a bit (the other bikes i go out with regularly are a fireblade and RSV) and still i get mayonnaise in the cam covers, so until i get an oil thermometer i am going to block off the cooler until summer arrives :-) | |
