| I went for ride for about four hours, ive had my GRiSO now for about 5 months and still recon its everything ive ever wanted for a motorbike, i love it more evey time i ride it, while it was still hot when i got home i drained the gearbox and drive shaft, the manual say 500 ml for the gear box and when i drained it there was 700 ml in there, and more than there should have been in the drive shaft so the only thing i can think of is the last guy that owned it must have pourd the oil in while it was on the side stand and not straight up and down like the manual says to do, any way its got the right amount of the right oil PENRITE in it now. ANYHOW happy GRISOING Guys.

| GRiSO took me north to the country side today. A mate and his Tuono came along for the ride, we found a quiet road full of corners, both fast sweepers and tighter slower one. Had a ball. GRiSO is not a match for my mate's Aprillia in outright horse power (he has a highly modded older twin) and on a track would be left well behind, but wow it certainly gave him some curry at more realistic road speeds. I even almost lost all my chicken strips..... | |

Some black things I found online. Ebay? $60 from China. I did a search for Aprilia Falco handle bars since they are the same forks.

| Took the exhaust apart to replace the header gaskets, weld a crack and buff things out a bit while Steak did a tune-up on the Orange Blossom Special. Our successes were followed by beer and grub and dreams of road trips to come. | Well I took mine in to be inspected so I could update its rego papers with the new engine number. I was expecting a load of shit from the government drone but it cruised right through. Had to pay for the blue slip inspection but the actual swap of information was free! You could of knocked me over with a feather! Given how venal government agencies usually are I was expecting a usurious fee!

| Finished the roller upgrade and got it running, no test ride yet because it is pissing down and cold. Had a quick look at the flats initial impression is just in time although the tappets have not needed adjustment for the last 10000 miles, more on that latter. It has done 23.500 miles. Never short journeys and I don’t like wet but get caught out sometimes because I live in Scotland and the weather can change quickly. | |

| Good for you Lil 7 fifty. I changed out the shitty steering head bearings for tapered roller type real ones. Pic of tools used on press. The yellow taped up Bit is a piece of pipe , taped to protect the finish on the yoke. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]" /> | |

Yup. People ask me why my motorcycle is in my living room for the winter when I have a garage, and I tell them it's because a Guzzi is a piece of art.

| Went for a logging run early this morning when it's was 20 degrees (it's 40 now), only to have that useless turd LC-2 serial output lock up. | Last saturday I did a 600km round trip with 5 other poor chaps (not on Guzzi's). Left Sydney circa 7;00 am after a coffee meeting then over the Blue mountains and past Lithgow with a pit stop and Brunch at Rylestone. Then got on the berries over to Denman then on to Broke for a late sanga and soft drink. another 150 kms brought us to Mount White for a last cuppa then home. The weather was brilliant, we kept speeds at semi sensible levels (cant recall doing the ton) and the riding was top notch through the hills and valleys. The little 850 went like a dream and very happy sitting on 135 kms. Must say my butt was in better shape post the event than expected-real gem of a bike. | |

| Same issue in Stockport where at the first sniff of cold they dumped loads of salt on roads towards anything remotely hilly. Result is dry roads in some places and wet where salt is pulling damp and holding it....it's an environmental disaster where local councils prefer to destroy wildlife and rust steel to avoid court from the few who believe clear and ice-free roads are an entitlement. I prefer the challenge of reading the roads - and part of the learning chucking the GRiSO and the BMW in separate 'lessons' down the road on untreated surfaces last year !
So in garage with the AC50F cursing the council and hoping the rain will wash it all away before I go out again.....
